Graveside services for Wilma Oree Carson, 89, of Dallas, Texas formerly of Lubbock, Texas were held June 22, 2002 at Resthaven Memorial Park with Rev. Mel Swoyer officiating.
She was born June 24, 1912 in Oklahoma City and died Wednesday June 19, 2002. She was married to Irvin L. Carson, who died in 1992. She taught school in Cheyenne in the 1940's and taught first grade for the Lubbock Independent School District for 36 years before retiring. She owned and operated Broadway Drugstore with her husband from 1957 to 1980.
She was a longtime active member of Shepherd King Lutheran Church and had lived in Lubbock from 1954 until moving to Dallas in 2000.
Survivors include a daughter, Barbara Jennine Smith of Oklahoma City, a son, Doyle I. Smith of Dallas; five grandchildren; and eight great grandchildren.
