Herbert B. Carroll, Jr., was born to Herbert Burnett Carroll, Sr. and May Foy on March 24, 1933 in Jasper, Texas. He married Joann Sims in 1953 and together they had two children, Jeanie and Joseph.
Herbert remarried on October 23, 1989 to Virginia S. Blackwell. He had two stepchildren, Richard William Clem Blackwell and Ashley Nicole Foreman.
Herbert graduated with a Master's in Physics from Texas A&M, after serving in the Army. He had a long career, first as a Boilermaker, in the Texas Shipyards and after college he worked for Pantex designing weapons and cameras to capture shot patterns. In the mid 1960's, Herb moved to Oklahoma to work for the Bureau of Mines in Bartlesville, OK. He was instrumental in many processes that were used to recover oil from underground. Herbert is a multi-published author of many publications while with the Bureau of Mines, and later the Department of Energy.
Herb was most of all a Christian. He pastored the First Baptist Church of Wann, Oklahoma and never failed to testify when he had a chance. He was an expert on Israel and End Time Prophecy, something that he shared with his wife, Virginia. He was also a Mason. Herb enjoyed wood working and jewelry making. He was a multi-talented man.
Herbert was preceded in death by his Mother, May and his Father, Herbert, Sr. (Hub), and his brother-in-law Robert Beal.
Herbert is survived by his wife, Virginia, his daughter Jeanie Washer and husband Tom of Borger, Texas, son Joseph Carroll and wife Gina of Houston, Texas, step-son Richard Blackwell and wife Julie of Branson, Missouri and step-daughter Ashley Caudill and husband Derik of Jay, Oklahoma. He is also survived by his sister Bobby June Beal and two nieces of San Antonio, Texas, and brother Larry Wayne Carroll. He is survived by 12 grandchildren Laura and Hector Aguero, Rachel and Jeremy Isley, Jeremy and Nans Washer, Sam Carroll, Ben Carroll, Josh Carroll, Tim Carroll and wife Evelyn, David and Sophia Washer, Scott, Dayton and Jordie Caudill and Naomi Cardwell and 8 great grandchildren, Eva Grace and Thomas Aguero, Jackson, Noah and Elisha Isley, and Isaac, Aly and Ethan Carroll. Also, his mother-in-law, Nadine Blackwell and numerous nieces and nephews. Herb is well loved by his extensive family.
