Eugene Wesley "Gene" Carroll

January 23, 1918 ~ April 22, 2005

Services: Tues., Apr. 26, 11 a.m.

Graveside services will be held at Greenlawn Southwest Memorial Park, 2739 Panama Ln., Tuesday, April 26 at 11:00 a.m. for Eugene "Gene" Wesley Carroll, 87, who passed away April 22, 2005 in Bakersfield. Pastor Jim Williams will officiate.

Gene was born January 23, 1918 in Oklahoma and resided in Kern County for 69 years. He was a carpenter for 62 years. Gene was a U. S. Army veteran of WW II. He was a member of the Rexland Acres Southern Baptist Church and an ordained minister who served many years in the church. He was a man who loved people and liked to make them laugh. Gene raised livestock which was a part of his livelihood in his retirement years. He enjoyed trout fishing, and filled his life with many happy hours when he taught his only son and grandson the art of trout fishing.

He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Billie Carroll; son and daughter-in-law, Eugene Carroll, Jr. and Susan; grandson, Clay Carroll; granddaughter and husband, Christy and Travis Sudsbury, all of Bakersfield; great grandsons, Shane and Joshua Sudsbury and Bowdy and Hunter Carroll; and sister-in-law, Ethel Froelich of Bakersfield.

In lieu of flowers please make donations to Optimal Hospice or Cancer Research.

Visitation is private.
