Sandy Carpenter, 58 year old Mooreland resident died Wednesday, January 22, 2014 in Mooreland. Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, January 25, 2014 in the Billings Funeral Home Chapel in Woodward with Reverend Beau Hague officiating. A private family burial will be held following services.
Sandra Kay Herber was born April 23, 1955 in Shattuck, Oklahoma to Bill and Ada Lee (Woody) Herber. She was reared in the Laverne area and attended the Laverne schools graduating from Laverne High School with the class of 1973.
On April 27, 1974 Sandy was united in marriage to Gary Lloyd Carpenter in Buffalo. They made their home in Mooreland for almost forty years. To this union they were blessed with two daughters, Teresa and Jody.
Sandy was active in rodeo and loved the farm life. Her family brought her great joy.
Sandy is survived by her husband, Gary of the home; two daughters, Teresa Goff and husband Tim of Mooreland; Jody Miller and husband Devin of Mooreland; one brother, Van Curtis and wife Kathy of Laverne; three sisters, Rita Salmon of Mooreland; Billie White and husband Tony of Grove; Patsy Hubbard and husband Lyod of Oklahoma City; six grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
Sandy was preceded in death by her parents; her step-father Milford Curtis; sister in law, Darla Raspberry; father in law, Orvan Carpenter; two brothers-in-law; Randy Loomis, and Doug Salmon.
Memorial donations may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital with the funeral home accepting contributions.
