Lonnie Earl Carner
September 21, 1954 ~ January 12, 2017

Lonnie E. Carner, 62, of Bartlesville, entered into eternal life Thursday.

Lonnie was born the son of Jack Carner and Juanita (Reeves) Payne on September 21, 1954, in Odessa, TX. He was raised in Big Lake, TX, and attended Reagan County High School home of the Owls, graduating in 1973. While in school he loved playing sports including football and track. Lonnie went on to attend Angelo State in St Angelo, TX. He worked in the oilfields for many years before moving in 1992 to Bartlesville with his son Dustin and daughter Leah to manage the family's oil leases. Soon after arriving Lonnie met and fell in love with Cheryl, and they have been inseparable since.

Lonnie was proud of his faith and wasn't shy to tell anyone he was a follower of Christ and belonged to the Mormon Church for the past 27 years. He loved his family and often said "nobody needs friends, just family." Hunting and fishing were his favorite activities. Lonnie was an accomplished guitarist and over the years played in several bands. He enjoyed all genres of music and even wrote a few songs of his own.

Lonnie is survived by his loving wife of the home Cheryl; four children, Dustin Carner and Kristen of Dewey, Leah Nett and Chris of Bartlesville, Eric Keenan and Monica of Fredonia, KS, and Tres Byers and Joshua of Claremore; two brothers, Troy Carner and Sandy of Odessa, and Jimmy Carner and Sandra of Sand Springs; one sister Carla Walters of Odessa; 13 grandchildren, Gage and Girlfriend Corinne Nelson, Kale Carner, Ashlynn Carner, Kendal Carner, Emme Carner Jase Carner, Landon Nett, Kira Nett, Aubrey Keenan, Carlie Keenan, Navaeh Heapie, Caden Mackey and Whitley Byers; as well as numerous cousins, nephews and nieces.

He is preceded in death by his parents; step father, Fred Payne; two brothers, Jackie Carner and Gary Carner and three granddaughters, Rachael Carner, Alyssa Nett and Alexia Nett.

The family will receive friends at Davis Family Funeral Home, (918-534-3030), 113 S. Osage (Hwy. 75), Dewey, on Sunday, Jan. 15, 3-5 p.m.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, Jan. 16, at Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 1501 SE Swan Drive, Bartlesville. Bishop Hansen will preside.

Services are under the direction of Carter Davis and the Davis Family Funeral Home.
