Richard Alan "Rick" Carlson
August 8, 1954 ~ November 23, 2021 (age 67)

Richard “Rick” Alan Carlson, age 67, of Tecumseh, OK, passed away Tuesday, November 23, 2021 in Shawnee, OK.

He was born August 8, 1954 in Detroit, MI to Charles Austin and Valley Ruth (Bolton) Carlson.

Rick grew up in California, moving to Seminole as a Freshman and graduated from Seminole High School. He also attended Gordon Cooper Vo-Tech School. Rick lived most of his life in Shawnee and Tecumseh.

He married Patricia “Patti” Jackson on October 25, 1974 at Trinity Baptist Church in Shawnee, OK.

Rick proudly served his country in the US Navy.

He worked for Mobil Chemical, Exxon Mobil, retiring in 2012. After retirement he was a security guard for several companies and casinos. Rick has worked for the Jindal Company for the last 5 years.

He was a member of the Faith Riders and the NRA.

Rick enjoyed shooting his gun, playing paintball and nerf guns. He was a collector of guns, knives, swords, and Star Wars memorabilia and was an excellent artist. He enjoyed going to casinos. But most of all, Rick loved spending time with his grandkids.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Valley Ruth; grandparents, Rollie and Ruth Bolton; uncle and aunt, Bob and Mary Strong, aunt and uncle, Lorraine and Everett White, aunt and uncle, Juanita and Horton Retalick, uncle Bud Bolton; and cousins, June Hazlett and Wayne Retalick.

Rick is survived by his wife, Patti Carlson, of the home; daughters, Crystal and Jasen Heatley of Tecumseh and Erika and Craig Stephens of Meeker; 4 grandchildren, Justice Heatley of Norman, Garrett and Bailey Heatley of Washington, Lyllie Corley of Meeker and Tim Stephens of Meeker; brothers, Steve and Becky Carlson of Seminole and David and Peggy Carlson of Shawnee; sisters, Suzanne Wilson of Oklahoma City and Barbara and Ken Bell of Oregon; brothers-in-law, Michael Freeman, Mackenzie Freeman, and Audrey Freeman, all of Ada; many nieces, nephews and other family and friends.

Memorial service will be 2:00 p.m., Friday, December 3, 2021 at Sharon Baptist Church with Reverend Clint Dawkins officiating under the direction of Cooper Funeral Home of Tecumseh.
