Ethel Mae (Cooper) Carl

Stroud, Oklahoma - Ethel Mae Cooper Carl, 94, Stroud, Oklahoma passed away on August 23, 2014 at her home.

She was born December 12, 1919 in Garfield, Kansas to Fred G. and Erma Mae Cooper of Garfield, Kansas. She was the youngest of six children, four boys and two girls.

She graduated from Garfield High School with the Class of 1939.

Ethel met Ralph Devon Carl while he was in the U.S Army Air Corps. They met in Kansas City and they were married in March of 1942 in Belton, Missouri. With the U.S. Airforce as his career, the couple were assigned to various Air Bases in the United States, as well as the Phillipines. Three children were born to this union; Eloyce {Loy}, Ralph DeVon II {Dee and Larry K. {Corky} Carl.

After retiring from the U.S. Air Force with 23 years of service, Ralph and Ethel moved to Spokane, Washington. After some years, they retired to Oceanside, California. In 2004, they relocated to Stroud, Oklahoma until the times of their passing.

Ethel leaves behind her daughter Eloyce {R. Dean}, and two sons Dee {Ellen} and Corky {Jennifer}: seven grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers and one sister.

Her church affiliations were with Stroud Christian Church and the Assembly of God.

No service will be held at this time. Cremation is under the care and direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Chapel in Stroud, Oklahoma.

A Life Celebration will be conducted on her birth date December 12, 2014.

Arrangements will be announced to friends and family.
