Dovie Louise (Peck) Cardin

Dovie Louise (Peck) Cardin
January 10, 1934 ~ January 06, 2021

Dovie was born January 10, 1934 in Coweta, Oklahoma to Sherman and Lucille Beck Peck. She died January 7, 2021 in Oklahoma City.

She attended Coweta schools, after which she moved to Bartlesville to work in a five and dime store. There she met Billy James Cardin and they were married on February 20,1954. This union produced three sons: Billy, David and Randy.

They later lived and worked in Hennessey, including owning the Blue Grass Café, before moving to Marshall in 1969. In Marshall, she joined the Palettes and enjoyed painting and travelling with what would become lifetime friends. Her family and loved ones will forever cherish her paintings.

In 1987 Dovie was asked to help care for an elderly lady living across the street. She agreed and enjoyed the job, not knowing this would begin a thirty-year career of in-home care for the elderly. She assisted multiple people and was always in demand.

She is survived by Bill, her husband of sixty-six years, along with sons David Cardin and wife Kathy, and Randy Cardin and wife Suzanne. Three grandchildren: Cody and Erin Cardin, Casey and Kayla Hamil Cardin and Aimee and Elliott Peak. Five greats: Bentleigh, Emery, Aspyn, Cora Lee and Parker. Surviving siblings are sisters Myrna Hutson, Bernice Tillman, Kellie Peck, Gwen and husband Kevin Christie, and brothers Jerry and Linda Peck and Glen and Jo Peck.

Dovie was preceded in death by her parents, infant son Billy, and siblings Barbara Howard, Troy Peck and Mervle Peck.

A sincere thanks to the First Baptist Churches of Crescent and Hennessey, along with the Marshall first responders, for all their help and prayers during this time.

The Memorial Service will be at 10:45am, Saturday, January 16th at the First Baptist Church of Hennessey
