Iola Mae (Goodman) Canning

A Celebration of Life Service for Iola Mae Canning, 57, of Enid, is 10 a.m. Saturday, November 10, 2018, at New Hope United Methodist Church with the Rev. Emily Robnett officiating.

Cremation and service arrangements are under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home.

Iola was born December 26, 1960, in Littleton, Colorado, to Elmer and Janet (Johnson) Goodman, and passed away Tuesday, November 6, 2018, at St. Mary's Regional Hospital.

Iola was raised in Pond Creek, where she attended and graduated from Pond Creek-Hunter High School in 1979.

Iola received her bachelor's degree from Northwestern State University in 1983. She married John Canning on August 7, 1982, in Pond Creek.

Iola was a member of New Hope United Methodist Church, where she served as an usher and played the hand bells.

Iola worked in the medical field for the past 30 years. She was working as the Referral Specialist for St. Mary's Regional Hospital.

She is survived by her husband, John, of the home; son, Jacob Canning and wife, Stacie; daughter, Sara Harwood and husband, Steven, both of Enid; grandchildren, Abigail and Aiden Canning; two brothers, David Goodman and wife, Kathi; and Kenneth Goodman and wife, Carol; sister, Janet Beaucage and husband, Phillip; and numerous other family members and friends.

Iola was preceded in death by her parents, and sister Patricia Goodman.

Memorials may be made to OMRF, Cancer Division, with Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home serving as custodians of the funds.
