Larry Dean Cann

Larry Dean Cann
January 30, 1942 ~ October 27, 2020

Larry Dean Cann passed from this life on October 27, 2020 in Shattuck, Oklahoma at the age of 78. Larry was born on January 30, 1942 in Siloam Springs, Arkansas to Clark and Edna (Cunningham) Cann. Larry and his family moved south of Higgins, Texas and completed elementary school at Dryfuss Public School and middle school at Higgins Public School. Larry then moved to Greensburg, Kansas and graduated high school from Greensburg Public School. In March 1960, Larry joined the United States Army, and was discharged in February 1961.

Larry married Sharon Coy Kendall, and to this union was born sons, Neal and Gary, and a daughter, Christine. On January 10, 2000, Larry was united in marriage to Dorothy Maggard, and added to his family a daughter: Kathy Phillips, and sons: Wes, Bill, Roy, Mike, and Wayne Phillips. Larry and Dorothy lived in Amarillo, Texas for a year, before moving to Arnett, Oklahoma where they resided until Larry’s passing.

Larry worked for Williams Oil and Gas as a compressor mechanic, and in his spare time he liked to work on engines and lawn mowers. Larry was a member of the Higgins Baptist Church, and was baptized at the age of 12 on August 6, 1955.

Larry is preceded in death by his parents Clark and Edna Cann.

Larry is survived by his wife Dorothy Cann of Arnett, Oklahoma; sister Sue Decker of Hugoton, Kansas; brother Joe Cann of Texas; son Neal Cann of Midland, Texas; daughter Christie Cann of Tennessee; son Gary Cann of Olatha, Kansas; step-daughter Kathy Phillips of Arnett; step-son Wes Phillips of Arnett; step-son Bill Phillips of Arnett; step-son Roy Phillips of Arnett; step-son Mike Phillips of Arnett; step-son Wayne Phillips of Vici, Oklahoma; 16 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; nieces; nephews; and a host of loved ones and friends.
