Alfred Canfield, 86, of Maud, Oklahoma passed away Monday, July 16, 2018 at his home.
He was born September 15, 1931 to Benjamin and Mary (Barnhill) Canfield in Pampa, Texas.
Alfred grew up in Pampa, Texas until his family moved to Norman, Oklahoma. He attended Little Axe School through the 8th grade and graduated from Noble High School. In 1963 he moved to Maud, OK where he has resided since.
He married Joyce Marie Brinson on December 19, 1953 at Clearbrook Church in Norman, Oklahoma.
Alfred farmed his land in Maud and worked as a Union Carpenter in Norman and all over the State of Oklahoma. After retirement he farmed full-time.
He was a hardworking man who was a dedicated family man and a good father. He enjoyed playing dominos and going dancing.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Joyce Marie Canfield; 2 sisters, Silby Combs and Lorrene Harris; 2 brothers, Edwin Canfield and infant brother.
Survivors include 3 daughters and 2 sons-in-law, Elizabeth and James Smith of Maud, OK, Rosemary Clark of Shawnee, OK and Lucinda and Glenn Jordan of Maud, OK; 2 sons and 1 daughter-in-law, Emmitt and Rita Canfield of Norman, OK and Jimmy Canfield of Maud, OK; 9 grandchildren, Danny Hall, John Smith, Tiffany Smith, Jennifer Canfield, Justin Canfield, Tristan Ealom, Kaydee Melin, Hollie Jordan and Dillen Clark; 11 great-grandchildren; and other extended family and friends.
