Donald Dean Camp

Donald Dean Camp, 83, of Norman, died Friday, October 24, 2014 at his home. The son of Loys Clayton Camp and Hazel Clara (Bostick) Camp, he was born October 26, 1930 in Dothan, Texas.

He served proudly in the U.S. Air Force and was honorably discharged after reaching the rank of Staff Sergeant. Donald married June Roberts in Rhein Maine, Germany on June 26, 1952.

He was an Elementary School Principal in Amarillo, Texas for many years until his retirement. In his spare time he enjoyed raising cattle and ranching. Don was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Norman and the Texas Retired Teachers Association.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, L.C. Camp. Donald is survived by his wife, June Camp, of Norman; three sons, Steve Camp and his wife, Julie, of Amarillo, Texas, Mike Camp and his wife, Debbie, of Blanchard, Oklahoma, and Kevin Camp and his wife, Amanda, of Ridgeland, Mississippi; seven grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; one sister, Jerrie Lou Franse and her husband, Roy, of Clovis, New Mexico; and one brother, Wayne Camp and his wife, Reba, of Alamogordo, New Mexico; and many other loved ones and friends.

Family will hold a memorial service at 10:00 A.M., Friday, November 7, 2014 at the First Presbyterian Church in Norman. Arrangements were under the direction of Eisenhour Funeral Home in Blanchard.
