Mary Alice Caldwell of Oklahoma City, OK (formerly of Tyler, TX) joined her husband and children in the house of their Lord Jesus on January 17, 2021. She was 90 years old.
Mary was born on August 25, 1930 in Gilmer, Texas to proud parents Travis and Bertie Bullock. Mary spent her childhood in the East Texas countryside and graduated from Harmony School. She wed R.A. Caldwell on August 19, 1951 and they spent the next 64 years raising children, traveling the world, and showing hospitality to everyone who had the good fortune to visit their home. Mary was a devout Christian, a talented cook, and a perpetually crafty person; her paintings, pottery, ceramics, and other knick-knacks adorn the walls and shelves of her many family and friends, filling their homes with warmth and love.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents; husband, R.A. Caldwell; son, Bob Caldwell; and daughter, Becky Moore. She is survived by her sister, Bocca and husband Thurman Cagle of Gilmer, TX; her son-in-law, Eddie Moore of Oklahoma City; grandson Andy Moore and Katy Knight of Oklahoma City; granddaughter Valerie and Chris Morgan of Bethany, OK; and seven great-grandchildren, Hudson, Elsie, and Margo Moore, Layla Boucher, and Penny, Bobby, and Archie Morgan.
The family would like to extend our thanks to many family, friends, doctors, nurses, and other care providers who have shown love and provided support over the few months.
Due to concern for the health and safety of others during the COVID-19 pandemic, the family will not be holding a service at this time. Mary will be interred with her husband and other family members at Hopewell Cemetery in Gilmer, TX.
