John Henry Calder

November 23, 1874 ~ April 25, 1963

John Henry Calder, Erick died April 25, 1963 at the Erick hospital following an extended illness. Services were held Saturday at 2 p.m. in the Church of Christ, Erick, with Ted Cline officiating.

Born November 23, 1874 in Day county, Ohio. Mr. Calder was married October 23, 1902 in Hackberry, Texas, to Nora Mae Baker. They came to Durham in 1902 and moved to Erick in 1947. He was a member of the Presbyterian church.

Survivors are his wife of the home; three daughters, Mrs. frances Whitson, Erick, Mrs. Hazel Burton, Dumas, Texas, Mrs. Pearlie Dardis, Sacramento, California; one son, Oscar, Dixon, California; seven grandchildren; one brother, Dwight of Compton, California.

Two daughters preceded him in death. Interment was in the Prairie Dell cemetery, Gem City, Texas.
