Mary Yvonne Cain

Mary Yvonne Cain
December 31, 1936  ~ September 05, 2021

Mary Yvonne Cain, affectionately known as “Mare-Von”, made the transfer from this life to her Eternal Reward on Sunday, September 05, 2021. Even now she is having a grand reunion with family and friends who died in Christ.

“There shall be no more sorrow, no more tears, no more pain, no more death; the old things have passed away. “ REVELATION 21:4

“For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not from yourselves, it is a gift from God, not as a result of works, that no one should boast.” EPHESIANS 2:8-9

She was born in Galveston, Texas in 1936 and graduated from Ball High School. Raised by her Aunt Mary and Uncle Frank, she subsequently moved with them to Dewey, Oklahoma, where they made their home.

She met and married Charles Cain of Slick, Oklahoma, in 1956. He was working in Bartlesville at the time. They lived in numerous small towns in the area, including a 1-year stint in San Diego in the mid-60s, but returned to Dewey to make their home. The marriage resulted in 2 sons, Timothy and Phillip. “Mare-Von” considered it her primary job to care for her children and husband, which she did.

She never once complained or said an unkind word about anyone. Sometime in 1979 she was there for Aunt Mary throughout her illness and chemotherapy until Jesus came to escort her to Heaven. She then took Uncle Frank into her home until he passed into Eternity with Christ in 1994.

“I am the resurrection and the life; he who believes in Me shall live even if he dies, and everyone who lives and believes in Me shall never die. Do you believe this?” JOHN 11:25-26

Early in 1980 she discovered the “pure milk of the Word” (1 PETER 2:2), verse-by-verse expository Bible teaching, due to her youngest son. She and her son attended Bible study over the years as often as it was taught, overcoming numerous distractions and demonstrating maximum positive volition to Truth. It truly made a difference in her life. She will be rewarded!

“Well done, good and faithful servant. You were faithful in a few things, I shall make you lord over many things. Enter into the joy of your Master!” MATTHEW 25:21

Around this time she began working outside the home. She worked at Rathbone’s, Vandevers, and finally Goodwill for about 14 years. She then retired to a quiet life in the home. She liked to do Word Seek puzzle books all the time and watched her 3 favorite TV shows every day – The Price Is Right, Wheel of Fortune, and Jeopardy, one of Aunt Mary’s favorite TV shows for years.

She is survived by her 3 sisters: Debbie, Dolores, and Benita, all of Texas; and her 2 sons of Dewey, Oklahoma.

She was kind and humorous and we had a lot of fun together and laughed a lot. She really was a nice person.

She will be missed.

“Weeping may endure for the night, but a shout of joy comes in the morning.” PSALM 30:5

“For I am convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.” ROMANS 8:38-39
