Helen Joyce (Whitaker) Ross Cabbiness

March 20, 1933 ~ January 5, 2008

Helen Joyce Ross Cabbiness, 74, Retired Digital Computer Corporation Service Manager, died on Saturday, January 5th, 2008 in Tulsa, OK.

Joyce was born, raised, and lived in the Tulsa area her entire life.

She was born March 20th, 1933 to Edward E. Whitaker and Mary C. Simpson.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brother and one daughter.

Joyce is survived by her husband Guy L. Cabbiness; son Steve White and wife Dianna of Jacksonville, FL, and daughter Tamara Joyce White and her companion of Austin, TX; stepson Phillip Ross and wife Elaine of Edmond, OK; grandchildren Tyler and Tawny White and Rachel and Shawn Ross.

Joyce graduated from Tulsa Central High School in 1951. She has maintained close contact with many of her classmates throughout the years.

She was a longtime member of the Tulsa Chapter of American Business Women's Association and served as President and Vice President.

She also, along with her husband, participated in the activities of the Oklahoma Antique Tractor Association.

Joyce was a very loving wife, mother and caring person to everyone she knew. She also loved dogs, especially English Bulldogs of which she had several.

She was baptized into the Assembly of God Church at an early age and one of her first ministers, Reverend Gene Winfrey, with whom she was in contact by e-mail until her death. Reverend Winfrey conducted the funeral service for her one year old daughter Tracy in 1958.

Funeral services will be held at Thursday, January 10, at Moore Southlawn Funeral Home in Tulsa.
