Linda (Akins) Byles

Linda (Akins) Byles
March 16, 1955 ~ September 23, 2020

Linda Byles, 65, passed from this life on September 23, 2020 at Mercy Hospital in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Linda was born March 16, 1955 in Madill, Oklahoma to Wanda (Benge) Akins and Albert Akins.

Linda attended Ravia School and Tishomingo High School, and went to Southern Oklahoma Vo-Tech receiving certification as a CNA and CMA. Linda worked at several nursing homes throughout her career and retired from Brookside Nursing Home in Madill, Oklahoma this past year.

Linda had many friends. She enjoyed being outdoors working in her yard, gardening and “hunting for mushroom”.

She liked to travel to different places when she got a chance, and loved going to concerts, and would never miss a chance to see her “favorite” of all time Dwight Yoakum. Linda’s favorite past time was pushing a button at the local casino hoping to win a dollar “or two, or three”.

One of the most enjoyable things for Linda to do was getting together with the family each weekend and having cookouts. Especially when all of her children and grandchildren were able to attend. That made it more special for her.

Linda enjoyed life, her family, children and especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and her dog Ruby.

Linda was preceded in death by her husband of 48 years Jim Byles, and her father, Albert Akins.

Those she leaves behind to cherish her memories are her children, Melisha Byles of Oklahoma City, Jimmy Byles and wife Brandi of Ravia; grandchildren, Landon Byles, Danielle Lewis, Dylan Byles, Ethan Byles; two great-grandchildren, Kevin Lewis and Makinley Lynn Lewis; mother, Wanda Akins; brothers, Kenneth Akins and wife Audra, Billy Akins and wife Judy, and Dewayne Akins and wife Debbie; sisters Susan Worcester and husband Jimmy and Debbie Dickerson; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends that will deeply miss her.
