Marjorie Jean Butts, age 84 of Enid, was born April 17, 1916, in Nowata, Oklahoma, to John and Clara Holinsworth. She moved to Hunter as a young child. She moved to Enid where she attended school and has lived most of her adult life. She married Jesse T. Butts on June 26, 1935, in Oklahoma City and was married for 56 years before his death in 1991.
She worked at Newmans and Grays Clothing Stores for 30 years retiring from Grays in 1980.
She is survived by two sons, Jerry of Enid and Richard of Oklahoma City; one brother, Harold and his wife Betty of Stillwater; three grandchildren, Stacy Clowers and her husband David of Nampa, Idaho, Trina Riley and her husband Shon of Pocasset, Oklahoma, and Jesse Butts of Oklahoma City; and five great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the University of Oklahoma Health and Science Center of Hospice Circle of Love with Ladusau - Evans Funeral Home serving as custodians of the fund.
An anatomical gift of her body was made with cremation to follow. She requested no service or no visitation.
