Elizabeth Ida Bushee, 74, of Norman passed away May 5, 2014 surrounded by her family. She was born August 19, 1939 in Slybor, New York to John A. and Nellie Ellen (Steele) Williams.
Elizabeth grew up and attended school in Middle Granville, New York. She married Joseph Thomas Bushee in 1955 who passed away in December of 1968. In 1977, Elizabeth moved to Oklahoma to be close to her son, Thomas Bushee and grandchildren. Elizabeth was a housekeeper in private homes most of her life. She also worked a short time at Norman Regional Hospital working in their housekeeping department until retiring at the age of 56.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Joseph Bushee; her son, Joey Bushee, her sister, Nellie Summer; and her brother, Frankie Williams. Elizabeth is survived by her son, Thomas Bushee and wife Charlene of Norman; her four grandchildren, Thomas Bushee, Jr. and family, Donald Bushee and family, Gabrielle Denise Johnson, and Debbie Gilliam and family; her seven great grandchildren, Austin Bushee, Piper and Sieana Bushee, Chris, Caitlyn, and Jason Bushee, and Weston Johnston; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation for Elizabeth will be from 12:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m., May 8, 2014 at the Havenbrook Funeral Home in Norman. Funeral Services will begin at 9:30 a.m., Friday, May 9, 2014 at the Havenbrook Funeral Home, 3401 Havenbrook Funeral Home in Norman.
Arrangements for Elizabeth and her family were placed in the care of the Vice family at the Havenbrook Funeral Home of Norman. Online condolences may be shared at www.HavenbrookFuneralHome.com.
