William Ray "Bill" Bush
July 17, 1951 ~ October 10, 2020

William (Bill) Ray Bush, 69, of Edmond, passed away Saturday, Oct. 10, 2020. The son of William and Catherine (Singleton) Bush, he was born July 17, 1951, in Ponca City, Okla. He was married to his high school sweetheart, Janie (Hardin) Bush, for 49 years.

Bill loved God, his family and OU football. After working as an electrician and electrical contractor, he went back to school at Phillips University in Enid to get his accounting degree and successfully became a CPA. He worked as an accountant at different companies before joining Diakonos Group LLC during its formation and enjoyed his work as there as chief financial officer.

Bill had polycystic kidney disease and had a kidney transplant in 2005, where his sister-in-law, Charla, was his donor.

He lived a healthy life following his transplant but passed away after catching COVID-19.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by his wife, Janie Bush of Edmond; two sons, W. Jason Bush and wife, Jennifer Long of Oologah, and David Bush of Tulsa; his brother, C. Terry Bush and wife, Connie of Edmond; two grandchildren, Rylee and Taylor Long-Bush; and many other family and friends.

A memorial service will be planned at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Samara Family Transplant Patient Assistance Fund at the Integris Foundation, 3030 NW Expressway, Suite 1600, Oklahoma City, OK 73112.
