Mildred Phillis “Millie” Burton passed from this mortal world in the wee hours of the morning of July 27, 2023. Millie was born to the late Willard and Emma Woods Burton on December 24, 1948 at the family home in Marietta, Oklahoma. She graduated from Marietta High School in 1967 and from Murray State College in 1969. Millie married Charles Franklin “Chuck” Lewis on June 6, 1969. They were married for 30 years and had two daughters, Charlotte, and Addie Beth. Millie was the deputy assessor for Marshall County for many years and retired from BancFirst in 2014. Millie leaves behind many loved ones to mourn her loss and cherish her memory.
Survived by Daughters: Charlotte Lewis Williams and husband Scott of Tishomingo, Oklahoma and Addie Beth Lewis Gratz of Tishomingo, Oklahoma; Grandchildren: Dylan Williams of Durant, Oklahoma; Zachary Williams and significant other Holly Warwick of Hamlet, NC Great Grandchild: Sebastian Williams of Tishomingo, Oklahoma. Bonus Daughters: Stacy Dawson of Kingston, Oklahoma and Shanna Harbert of Tishomingo, Oklahoma. Bonus Grandchildren: Gracie and Gavin Dawson of Kingston, Oklahoma, Brayden Futrell and Connor Nestor of Tishomingo, Oklahoma. Siblings: Mary Hughes of Thackerville, Oklahoma, Georgia Wade of Thackerville, Oklahoma, Henry Burton and wife Lana of Lone Grove, Oklahoma.
Preceded in death by Parents: Willard and Emma Burton and beloved granddaughter AJ Gratz.
A private memorial will be held at a later date.
