Faye Charlotte (Smith) Burton

Faye Charlotte (Smith) Burton
February 9, 1933 ~ December 26, 2013

Faye Charlotte Burton was born February 9, 1933 to George A. and Alice Pearl (Rhea) Smith at their home south of Lindsay, OK. She was the 5th of 10 children.

After high school, Faye moved to Oklahoma City and began work with Southwestern Bell. She retired in 1983 after 32 years of service.

Faye married Kenneth Burton in 1956. They were married 53 years until his death in 2009.

In addition to her parents and husband, Faye was preceded in death by two sisters, Gerry and Olivine and three brothers, Joe, Hulan and infant Charles Glenn.

She is survived by her son, Roger, sister Mary Botkin and husband, Jack, 3 brothers, Winford Smith and wife, Mary Jane; Ralph Smith and wife Carolyn, and Jim Smith; and a large number of nieces and nephews.

There will be a visitation on Sunday, December 29, at Mercer Adams Funeral Service in Bethany with the family present from 3-5pm.

A memorial service to celebrate Faye's life will be held at 2pm Monday, December 30, at Portland Ave. Baptist Church.

In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to Portland Ave. Baptist Church or Oklahoma Baptist Homes for Children.
