Denzil Edwin Burton
May 11, 1944 ~ Dec. 13, 2013

Funeral for Denzil Edwin Burton, 69, of Enid, will be 10 a.m. Monday, Dec. 23, 2013, at Stittsworth Memory Chapel, with Chaplain Ron Stone officiating. Military rites will be conducted by the United States Army.

Burt was born May 11, 1944, in Compton, Calif., the son of Edwin and June Malsbury Burton, and passed away peacefully on Friday, Dec. 13, 2013, at his residence.

He was raised in California and Washington, moving to Enid in 1985.

Burt served his country proudly in the United States Army.

Burt was a long-haul truck driver and also owned and operated a motorcycle shop.

He married Verna Joy Farrar in Eureka Springs, Ark., on Sept. 13, 2003.

Burt was proudly a member of the Disabled American Veterans.

Survivors include his wife, Verna of the residence; son, Denny of Enid; stepsons, Jeff Farrar and Cory Foale, both of Enid; and stepgranddaughter, Lily Foale of Enid.
