Kenneth Harold Burnham

Aug. 22, 1933 ~ June 29, 2009

A memorial service for the Rev. Kenneth Harold Burnham, 75, of Jet, will be 2 p.m. Friday, July 3, 2009, at Cherokee Friends Church. Greg Giles will officiate. Visitation will follow the service. Cremation arrangements are by Anderson-Burris Funeral Home and Crematory.

He was born Aug. 22, 1933, in Wakita to Glenn Upton and Golda Elma Manning Burnham and died Monday, June 29, 2009, at his home.

He graduated from Jet High School. He attended Central College, McPherson, Kan., and earned his bachelor of arts degree from Greenville College. He was a pastor of churches in Kansas, Oklahoma and Nebraska and an evangelist for many camps and seminars.

He married Joan Rhodes June 6, 1953, in Edison, Neb. They moved to Jet in 1998.

He was active at Jet Senior Center and Lions Club and served on Jet Cemetery Board.

Surviving are his wife, Joan; three daughters, Judy Banks of Newton, Kan., Anita Slack of Clermont, Fla., and Carol Garrison of Olathe, Kan.; one son, Steve Burnham of Longmont, Colo.; one brother, Robert Burnham of Jet; 11 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by three sisters.

Memorials may be made to Jet Senior Center or a charity of the donor's choice.
