James D. "Smokey" Burnett Jr.
January 30, 1947 ~ August 16, 2020

Celebration of Life service for James D. "Smokey" Burnett Jr. will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 25, 2020, in the Bible Baptist Church Chapel, 309 N. 11th, Enid.

James Burnett was born Jan. 30, 1947, in Corsicana, Texas, to James and Julia Burnett, and died peacefully on Aug. 16, 2020.

James was an active member of Bible Baptist Church since October 1972. He served as a youth director, treasurer and choir member, and worked in the bus ministry in the service of his Savior.

He is survived by his wife of 16 years, Shelly Burnett, of Enid; brother, Thomas Burnett, and wife, Anne, of Auburn, Calif.

With his first wife, Roxanne, he is survived by his son, Jarred Burnett, and wife, Mariah, and their children, Isaiah, Hannah, Ava and Malachi; and daughter, Shea Hicks, and husband, Lennis, and son, Ethan, all of Enid.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, David.

Any donations offered in memoriam to James can be made to Bible Baptist Church.
