Warren Mansfield Burleson, 83, of Cherokee, Oklahoma, was born on September 4, 1941, to Clyde and Bertha Burleson in Cherokee, Oklahoma, and passed on October 30, 2024, surrounded by family in Enid, Oklahoma.

Warren graduated from Byron-Driftwood. After graduation, Warren pursued a career as a truck driver for Sand & Gravel, a family business, as well as other trucking companies. He was also a farmer, rancher and custom harvester. He was a member of the Corinthian Lodge 307 and First Baptist Church, where he served as Sunday school secretary, and helped start the First Baptist Men's Calf Fry Supper. Warren loved spending time with his family and enjoyed hunting, fishing and playing poker with friends. He married Edith Weigand on February 8, 1963, and to this union two children were born: Derrick and Gina. Edith preceded him in death in 2009. He married Meron Highfill June 30, 2011, who brought to the family Diesta and Mollie.

He is survived by his sisters, Francis Kraft and Cordella Zahorsky, and brother, John Burleson; daughters Gina Pekrul and husband Cam, Diesta Harris and husband Jackie, and Mollie Trent and husband Tony; grandchildren Jennifer Pekrul, Jacob Pekrul and wife Haven, Mirabel Burleson, Meagan Francis and husband Joel, Todd Harris and wife Rachel, Stephanie Chase and husband Casey, and Austin Harris; six great-grandchildren, and his beloved dog Daisy.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Clyde and Bertha Burleson; wife, Edith Burleson; son, Derrick Burleson, and wife, Meron Burleson.

A memorial for Warren Mansfield Burleson, 83, of Cherokee, Oklahoma, will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, December 27, 2024, at First Baptist Church. The Rev. Tom Cooksey and Rev. Rob Kirkpatrick will officiate. Arrangements are by Lanman Funeral Home Inc. in Cherokee.
