Meron Kay (Highfill) Burleson

January 2, 1942 ~ November 20, 2021

Meron Kay Highfill Burleson went home to her Lord on November 20, 2021. She will be cremated at her request. There will be no memorial service at this time. A private memorial service to celebrate her life and going home will be held at a later date.

Meron was born on January 2, 1942, to Jack and Doris Lorene Highfill in Leon, Kansas. She was Christian in faith and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Cherokee. She so loved the Lord and would talk about Him every chance she could.

She married the love of her life, Warren Burleson, on June 30, 2011. Meron loved her daughters and grandchildren dearly. She was a faithful and dear friend to many.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Jack and Doris Lorene Highfill; brothers, Toby Highfill, Tom Highfill, and Al Highfill; and sister, Vickey Highfill.

Meron leaves behind her beloved husband, Warren Burleson; daughters, Diesta Harris and husband Jackie of Canton, Texas, Mollie Trent and husband Tony of Edgewood, Texas, Gina Pekrul and husband Cam of Goltry, Oklahoma. She was Poppie to eight grandchildren, Meagan Francis, Todd Harris, Stephanie Chase, Austin Harris, Jacob Pekrul, Jennifer Pekrul, Mirabel Burleson and Landon Trent. She had seven great-grandchildren, Brady Francis, Lexi Francis, Jolie Francis, Cooper Chase, Charlee Chase, Clarke Trent, and Brodie Trent. She also leaves behind her most precious Daisy. She is also survived by sisters, Jenny Newell, Bobbie Jewell; brother, Boyde Highfill; and nieces and nephews.

Memorials may be made to Hospice Circle of Love through the funeral home.
