Brian K. Burkhalter was born on May 26,1966, in Borger, Texas. He was the youngest of five children of Cochran LRoy and Imateen (Benedict) Burkhalter. He graduated from Durant High School in 1984. In 2001 Brian married his high school sweetheart Leticia Bockmann in Durant. Brian and his family founded and directed Families Feeding Families, a non-profit 501C3 soup kitchen and he also spent his time serving the community volunteering with the Bryan County Emergency Management assisting with storm spotting. He enjoyed movies, music and photography as well as playing the drums, guitars and making memories with friends and his family. He and his family attended Silo Baptist Church. After a long battle with cancer and then dementia Brian went to be with his Lord and Savior on April 15, 2024.
Brian is preceded in death by his father Cochran LRoy Burkhalter, his mother Imateen Benedict Burkhalter, his sister Rebecca Burkhalter, and his brother Bill Burkhalter.
Left to cherish his memories and carry on his legacy are his wife Leticia Bockmann Burkhalter of the home, and his children: Bryson Burkhalter of Durant, Emma Daniel and spouse Andrew of Madison, WI, Kiersten Ayers and spouse Brynn of Midwest City, OK, Erin and Keigan Burkhalter. Also left to cherish his memories and carry on his legacy are his brothers, Dewey Burkhalter and spouse Sylvia of Waxahachie, TX, and Rodney Burkhalter and spouse Sheryl of Durant, his uncle Keiler Burkhalter and spouse Linda of Calera, as well as one grandchild Anberlin. Brian also leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
