Eva (Smith) Burke
Dec. 13, 1922 ~ March 2, 2015

Eva Smith Burke was born in Kremlin, Okla., on Dec. 13, 1922, the youngest of nine children to Arthur M. and Ethel Hall Smith.

She graduated from Kremlin High School in 1939.

Eva married Jack Burke in Enid on Aug. 5, 1944.

She worked for Woolworth�s, Bell Telephone, Bank of Kremlin, and attended Enid Business College. In 1960, she went to work for Central National Bank and retired in June 1988, after 28 years of service.

In August 1988, she joined Enid Public Schools as a bus monitor for special needs children and was actively employed there until shortly before her passing.

She was able to spend her final days at home surrounded by family and her beloved dogs. She passed away there in the early hours of March 2, 2015.

Eva is survived by sons, Kerry of Enid, and Tommy and wife Debbie of Louisville, Ky.; grandchildren, John and wife Brandi of Enid, and Sarah of Louisville; as well as numerous great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by an infant son, James Michael; husband, Jack; her parents; three sisters and five brothers.

Her wishes were to be cremated and buried at Kremlin Cemetery next to Jack and near her mother and father. The family will have a private service at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests honorariums made in Eva�s name to the Enid Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals.
