Lorraine (Baker) Burk
October 31, 1928 ~ June 17, 2018

Funeral services for Lorraine Burk will be 3 p.m. Friday, June 22, 2018, at the Alva First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) with Pastor Ron Pingelton officiating. There will be a visitation with the family from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday, June 21, 2018, in the fellowship hall at the Alva First Christian Church. She was cremated at her request under the direction of Marshall Funeral Home of Alva. 

Lorraine Burk, daughter of the late Loran Cornelius and Bertha (Fargo) Baker, was born October 31, 1928, at Alva, Oklahoma and passed away June 17, 2018, at Alva, at the age of 89 years, 7 months and 17 days. 

Lorraine graduated from Alva High School. On March 22, 1947, she was united in marriage to Bill Burk at Enid, Oklahoma. She worked as a telephone operator for many years and then at Alva State Bank until her retirement. 

She was a member of the First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), where she served as Elder Emeritus, sang in the choir and was active in CWF. She was active in the ACT I Theatre, where she helped with the box office, the refreshments, or whatever she could do. She was also a Girl Scout Leader. She enjoyed reading, football games, embroidering and telling jokes. 

Besides her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by her son, Larry Burk, and a special friend, Wilma McCulloch. 

Lorraine is survived by her daughter, Peggy Burk of Alva; several special children that she considered her grandchildren, Shannon Bouziden Squires, Chase Bouziden, Linda Crouch Kidd, Tony Crouch, Linda Bouziden, Loran Bouziden, and Bentley Bouziden; other relatives and many friends. 

Memorial contributions may be made through the funeral home to the Beadles Nursing Home Activity Fund or the First Christian Church Foyer Fund.
