Bobby Gene Burden, age 85, of Lawton passed away Tuesday, March 20, 2018 at Comanche County Memorial Hospital in Lawton.
Bobby was born on September 5, 1932 in Ryan, Oklahoma to Ira and Ludie (Birdwell) Burden.
He enlisted in the United States Army in 1950 and proudly served his country for almost thirty years before retiring in 1978. While he in Army, he received numerous awards, medals and commendations including a Bronze Star with First Oak Leaf Cluster and two Purple Hearts with First Oak Leaf Clusters, just to name a few.
In his free time, Bobby enjoyed playing golf, but most of all he loved spending time with his family and friends, especially his grandchildren.
Preceded in death by his parents, Ira and Ludie Burden,
Bobby is survived by his wife, Lorene (Duncan) Burden; two daughters, Debbie Gulley and husband Tony and Sheena Clift and husband Jack; four grandchildren, Clint Sexton and wife Shelley, April Sexton, Kate Kettner and husband Kris and Travis Clift; special friends, J.W. and Marie Hunter and one sister, Patricia Andrew and husband Andy along with numerous other relatives and close friends.
On lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the American Heart Association or a charity of your choice in Bobby's name.
