Edith Louise (Hervey) Burch
July 22, 1921 ~ June 17, 2011

Edith Louise Hervey Burch, 89 of Hollis, Oklahoma passed away Friday, June 17, 2011 in Jasper, Texas. A Memorial Service will be 4:00 P.M. on Tuesday, June 21, 2011 at Harmon County Funeral Chapel in Hollis, OK. Services are under the direction of Harmon County Funeral Home in Hollis, OK.

Edith was born July 22, 1921 in Dodson, Texas to George A. Hervey and Bertha Palk Hervey. She attended Hollis High School and upon graduation she attended one year of college in Weatherford. She married her husband of sixty-seven years, A.W. “Buddy” Burch, November 29, 1941 in the Church of Christ minister’s living room in Hollis, Oklahoma. Soon after their marriage they moved to California and after the war she started work in the shipyards in Portland, Oregon with her half-brother Carl and his wife Juanita. She worked as a welder during this time. She and Buddy moved back to Hollis in 1977 to take care of her mother and upon her mother’s death remained in Hollis.

Edith is survived by her three sons, Bill Tom Burch and wife Susan Kay of Colmesneil, Texas, Joe Dale Burch and wife Linda Lu of Hollis, Oklahoma, Buddy Lynn Burch and wife Sylvia of Cabot, Arkansas; three granddaughters, Tina Loeffler and husband Lee of Quanah, Texas, Jennifer Gold and husband Ryan of Wimberley, Texas, Joni Camper and husband Kirk of Van, Texas, one step-granddaughter Amber Stribling of Denver, Colorado; one grandson, Stacy Burch of Canton, Texas; one step-grandson Brent Crenshaw of Blanchard, Oklahoma; five great granddaughters; four great grandsons; sister, Norma Jean Holecko and husband Eddie of Cleveland, Ohio; brother Walter Wayne Hervey of New Port Ritchy, Florida and many nieces and nephews.

Edith was preceded in death by her husband, A.W. “Buddy” Burch; her parents George A. Hervey and Bertha Hervey; her brother George Henry Hervey, brother Elmer Francis Hervey, her half-brother, Carl Hervey; and her grandson Tracy Lynn Burch.
