Georgia Lou (Herren) Bumpus
May 20, 1940 ~ May 28, 2018

Georgia Lou (Herren) Bumpus was born in Enid, Oklahoma on May 20, 1940 to George and Clorine Herren and passed away, unexpectedly, on Monday, May 28, 2018. She attended Enid public schools and graduated from Enid High School. After High School, she attended Bethany Nazarene College for a brief time and it was there that she met Joel Daniel Bumpus, Sr. They married and had three children together. After years of raising her children, Georgia went back to school and graduated from Phillips University with a teaching degree. She taught in the North Enid, Carrier Chisholm school district for many years. She eventually left the teaching field and worked for ANR Pipeline Company until retirement and then worked for East-Co Rental Tools up until just a few years ago. She deeply loved her family and friends. 

Georgia is survived by her ex-husband, Joel Bumpus, Sr. of Enid, her son Joel Daniel Bumpus, Jr. (Sandra) of Oklahoma City, her daughter Karyn Denise (Bumpus) Hutchings of Crosby, TX, her daughter Dana Leigh (Bumpus) Buster of Prattville, AL, grandchildren Nicole Bumpus and Joel Bumpus of Oklahoma City, Sara (Buster) Baraniuc (Moses) of Wilmer AL, Matthew Buster of Prattville, AL and Hollie Hutchings of Crosby, TX, great-grandchildren, Levi, Noah and Ruth Baraniuc of Wilmer, AL, a sister, Karyn (Thomas) Thompson of Oklahoma City, and many nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents and two son-in-laws, Maury Buster and Dale Hutchings. 

Visitation come and go reception will be Wednesday, June 6, 2018 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. in the AB Circle of Life Event Center.

Cremation arrangements are by Anderson-Burris Funeral Home & Crematory.
