Orville Dean Bullard

Orville Dean Bullard
May 11, 1940 ~ August 27, 2017

Orville Dean Bullard, son of Orville Lloyd and Veda Violet Hall Bullard, was born May 11, 1940 at Shattuck, Ok. and passed from this life August 27, 2017 at his home in Woodward, Ok. at the age of 77.

Dean grew up in the Arnett community attaining his education in the Arnett Public Schools except for 6th and 7th grades where he attended school in Madera, Ca. He graduated from Arnett with the class of 1958. On June 5, 1962, he was inducted into the U.S. Army. While serving his country he was awarded the Good Conduct medal and an Expert Rifle Badge, he also received a letter of appreciation and commendation before his honorable discharge on June 4, 1964.

Dean was employed at WW Steele Co. in Oklahoma City and later at Locke Plumbing Supply first in Altus, Ok and then in Clinton, Ok where he retired as the manager.

His true passion was cars. He owned and built race cars and liked the challenge of restoring cars, including a 1963 Ford Fairlane of which he was so proud. He enjoyed his time spent in the country caring for cattle and doing ranch work. Dean was a great fan of country music and never missed a chance to take a turn around the dance floor. 

He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Raymond. Those cherishing his memory are his sister, Wilma Jean Kennedy of Vici, OK; three nieces, Vickie Evans and husband James of Branson, MO, Sheena Sherrill and husband Rick of Enid, OK and LaKeeta Huber of Vici, OK; Two nephews, Scott Kennedy and wife Sue of Vici, OK and Rocky Kennedy and wife Sonja of Alpharetta, GA; great nieces and nephews; three aunts and one uncle, other relatives and numerous friends with which he enjoyed having a cup of coffee and a good visit.

Memorials may be made to the Harmon Cemetery in care of Shaw Funeral Home.
