Jacquline Lee (Spurlock) Bufton

Jacquline Lee (Spurlock) Bufton
August 19, 1949 ~ March 7, 2020

Jacquline Lee Bufton passed away Saturday afternoon the 7th of March 2020 at the age of 70. She was born to Jack and Celia (Bain) Spurlock on Friday the 19th of August 1949 in Kaw City, Oklahoma.

Jackie worked at Wentz Camp during her early twenty’s. It was here she met her soulmate Daniel Bufton and on June 22, 1974 they were married at the Camp. Dan and Jackie raised two children; Kenneth and Angelia. Jackie had a heart of gold and a giving nature. She received her bachelor’s degree in Education and spent many years teaching in the public-school system.

Jackie was very creative and spent many hours at her sewing machine. She not only sewed many an item with the Sew What Stitch Group each week, but also stitched quilts with the Pioneer Area Quilters Guild each month. Jackie found her gift of sewing at a young age for at the age of 24 she created her own wedding dress. She will be remembered for her sewing talents for years to come. When Jackie wasn’t sewing, she could be found tending to the bee’s that her and Dan kept or tending to her flower and vegetable gardens.

Left to mourn Jackie’s passing are her husband; Dan of the family home in Ponca City, OK, children; Kenneth Bufton and his girlfriend Laura of Leander, TX, Angelia Hudkins and her husband Ryan of Stillwell, KS, grandchildren; Aubrey and Blake Hudkins, sisters; Fern Johnson and her husband Bob and Lisa Martinez, and Aunt Sara Bain, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Services will be held at 10 am Thursday, March 12th, at Northeast Baptist Church with Pastor Larry Nigh presiding. The family has requested for those of you that have quilts and don't mind sharing, to please bring one and place on the back of your pew for the service.

To honor Jackie’s legacy, the family would like to continue her work with the Million Pillowcase Challenge which provides pillowcases for those in need. If you would like to help with this project, please make three pillowcases and either give them to one of the following: Shelly Kennedy, Judy Sattre, Kassie Bridges, or give them to the charity of your choice.
