Janet Buchanan, age 54 of Wanette, passed away Saturday, June 16, 2018, at the Integris Health Hospital in Edmond.
Janet Elaine Mowdy was born May 14, 1964 in Ada, Oklahoma, the middle child of Glenn and Ulene Mowdy. She was raised in Lexington and attended Lexington Schools, graduating with the Class of 1982.
On August 11, 1986, Janet married her best friend and life partner, Mack Allen Buchanan in Lexington. They made their home east of Lexington where together they raised 3 sons, Brandon, Christopher and Mack Wessely.
Janet went back to school, and earned a degree in Nursing and worked as a
Medical Assistant for a time. Her greatest joy though, was being a wife,
mother and grandmother. Janet cherished her family and especially her
grandchildren. She loved the beach and spending time at the lake. She
enjoyed crocheting and developed a love for photography and was an excellent
cook. She will be remembered most for her famous mac-n-cheese and her
pineapple upside-down cake. She was an avid reader and never missed a chance
to curl up and watch a good Lifetime movie. She will be dearly missed!

Christopher Buchanan and wife Stephanie of Purcell and

Her parents, Glenn and Ulene Mowdy
of Lexington;
Grandmother, Alynne "Mamma" Tomlinson of Coalgate,
OK;
Sister,
Annette Hamm and husband Jerry of Lexington;
Brother,
Tony Mowdy and wife Buffy of Lexington;
10 grandchildren, Ashley, Lane,
Brandon "Bebo", Shyann, Tristan,
Charlie, Kailyn, Cayson, Mack Christopher and Kash;
A host of other
family and friends.
