Glenda Lee Buchanan, 66, passed away Friday, May 27, 2011 at the Perry Memorial Hospital, Perry, Oklahoma. She was born on November 5, 1944 at Red Rock, OK. Her parents were James T “Jim” and Elva (Mussick) Thompson.
Glenda was united in marriage to Bobby Buchanan on October 24, 1996 in Perry, OK. She worked as an assembly line worker manufacturing boats. For many years she worked as a beauty operator. She enjoyed raising flowers and her hobbies and interests included fishing and pheasant hunting.
Glenda was preceded in death by her parents; three sisters, Virginia Tucker, Doris Dale Beir, and an infant sister; and three brothers, Orin, Eugene and Eldon Pat Thompson.
Survivors include her husband, Bob Buchanan of the home in Perry, OK; two daughters, Toby and husband Neil Kirk, Covington, OK, and Tracy and husband John Simon, Lindale, TX; step-children, Rick Buchanan, Newkirk, OK, Shelly Moorman, Ponca City, OK, Lila Bay and husband Raymond of Perry, OK; sisters, Melva Edgar, Donna and husband Earl King, Darlene and husband Bob Lumbers, all of Perry, OK; five grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.
A private family memorial service will be held at a later date.
Services were entrusted to the Perry Funeral Home.
