Donald Buchanan, a longtime resident of Durant, Oklahoma, passed from this life and joined his Savior on Thursday June 8, 2017 at the age of 62 years 4 months and 4 days. He was born on February 4, 1955 in Durant, Oklahoma to Eston "Red", and Dorothy (Goza) Buchanan. Donald married Kay Keithley on October 25, 1974 in Denison, Texas.
Donald served the State of Oklahoma in the National Guard. He was a member of Victory Life Church. Donald graduated from Durant High School, and worked in the meat market at Green Spray for many years. He enjoyed going to movies and a good competitive fishing trip with Gary, and all sports.
Mr. Buchanan is survived by his beloved wife, Kay Buchanan of the home; sons, Jason Buchanan and wife Katrina of Bennington, Oklahoma, and Weslee Akin of Durant, Oklahoma; daughter, Holly Barnett and husband John of Coalgate, Oklahoma; brothers, Bobby Buchanan and companion Sue Langford of Caddo, Oklahoma; Gary Buchanan and wife Joyce of Durant, Oklahoma; grandchildren, Morgan Akin of Durant, Oklahoma, Wyatt Rhodes, Elaina Buchanan, and Matthew Buchanan of Bennington, Oklahoma.
Mr. Buchanan was preceded in death by his parents, Eston "Red" and Dorothy Buchanan; and brothers, Dwayne and Ralph Buchanan.
A memorial service will be held at 1:00 PM Thursday, June 15th at the Victory Life Church with Pastor Lee Armstrong officiating.
