Marion Christine (Horine) Bryant

January 1, 1940 ~ March 14, 2017

Marion Christine (Horine) Bryant, 77, of Barnsdall, Oklahoma passed away on Tuesday, March 14 at 12:30 am at St. John's Medical Center in Tulsa. She went to sleep knowing she'd awake in Heaven.

January 1, 1940 Marion Christine Horine was born to Johnny Marion Horine and Christine Odell McWhirt Horine in Holtville, California. The family moved to Mound Valley, just north of Hominy, Oklahoma in 1955. She married Andrew Franklin Bryant in 1961 and they made their home in Barnsdall.

Marion was elected City Treasurer in 1973 and held that position for 32 years, retiring in 2005. Frank and Marion became members of the Barnsdall Assembly of God Church in 1967. Marion served in a number of positions in the church over the years. She retired as the treasurer in 2005.

Marion is survived by her four children: Kay and Rodney Pickup of Jay, Oklahoma; Michael Bryant, of Barnsdall; Chance and Sayra Bryant of Barnsdall; and Glynis Bryant of Barnsdall; her ten grandchildren: Branden Gamble, Christina Phillips, Mya Pickup, Kristopher Bryant, Megan and Dakota Gunn, Marissa Stephens, Devin Laird, Logan Bryant, Chandler Bryant, McKenna Bryant, and four great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews, sisters-in-law, and cousins. Marion was preceded in death by her parents, Johnny and Christine Horine, her husband, Frank "Babe" Bryant, and one grandchild, Michael Boutwell.

There will be a memorial service for Marion on Friday, March 17 at 2 pm at Barnsdall Assembly of God Church. The service will be celebration of her life led by Dennis and Arlis Thrasher and Pastor Jason Byers. The Stumpff funeral home will be open on Thursday, March 16 from 12 to 6 in Barnsdall for any family and friends who'd like to come by and sign the book. There will not be a viewing. The family would like to honor Marion's wish and has asked that in lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Assembly of God Church to further the kingdom God.
