Joe Bryant, age 61 of Scranton, Arkansas and formerly of Wayne, passed away Monday, November 27, 2017.
Evan Joe Bryant was born October 14, 1956 in Pauls Valley, OK, 1 of 7 children born to Gene and Peggy Bryant. He was raised in Rosedale and attended Wayne Schools, graduating in 1973.
Joe married Jaunita Coody and to this union, son, Keith and daughter, Alicia were born. Joe began driving a truck, and with his dad, hauled hay for many years. Joe was his own man and a free spirit and he loved life on the open road. He later united with Norma Jones, and they made their home in Wayne. Joe loved his family and he cherished his grandchildren, sometimes driving many miles out of his way just to see them. He was an avid hunter and enjoyed a good day of fishing, and he never missed an opportunity to sing some karaoke. After Norma's passing, Joe moved to Scranton to be close to his brother. He was a wonderful father, son, grandfather, brother, uncle and a true friend. He will be dearly missed!
He was preceded in death by: His wife, Norma and His father, Gene Bryant.
Joe is survived by: His mother, Peggy Bryant of Purcell; Children, Keith Bryant and wife Shawyna of Kingston and Alicia McDowell and husband Jason of Noble; 3 sisters, Gaylon Alexander of Purcell, Diane Sturman of Scranton and Laurie Bryant of Purcell; 3 brothers, Randy Bryant and wife Annette of Paris, AR, Mark Bryant and wife Carolyn of Purcell and Eric Bryant and wife Judy of Scranton; 5 grandchildren, several nieces and nephews and a host of other family and friends.
Memorial Services are scheduled for a later date.
