Cynthia Marie Bryan, 75, passed away April 29, 2023 in Kiowa, Kansas, at Kiowa District Hospital Manor.
She was born May 11, 1947, in Hardtner, Kansas, to Cecil Tucker Jr. and Verna Merryman Tucker.
She attended Kiowa schools and graduated from Kiowa High School in 1965. After graduating high school, she continued her education at Kansas State University, where she graduated with her bachelor's degree and also met her future husband, Joseph Bruce Bryan, who was stationed at Fort Riley. They were united in marriage on June 16, 1969. They had two children, Lacey Ellen and Jeff Joseph.
Cindy stayed active in her and Bruce's businesses helping with bookkeeping and deliveries. They loved to travel and spend time with their grandchildren. Cindy was a homemaker and while her children were young she was active in local clubs, was a member of Kiowa Congregational Church, helped out with Brownies and Girl Scouts, enjoyed going to Doll Club with her Grandma Edna, and belonged to several Tole Painting organizations. If she wasn't taking a class, she was painting her tole art and ceramic Santa Clauses at home or creating beautiful paper mâché. She also loved volunteering at the Kiowa General Store, which helped her pass the time after Bruce passed away in 2002.
Cindy was diagnosed with Supra Nuclear Palsy in 2015 and unfortunately saw her health decline. She spent the last five years at the Kiowa Manor, where the nurses and staff took excellent care of her.
Cindy is preceded in death by her loving husband of 33 years, Bruce; her parents, Cecil and Verna Tucker, Jr., and her sister-in-law, Karen Tucker.
Survivors include her daughter, Lacey Schofield and husband, David, of Ellinwood, Kansas; son, Jeff Bryan and wife, Amy, of Kiowa, Kansas; brother, Mark Tucker of Burlington; grandsons, Bryce Anderson and wife, Jayme, and Trey Schofield of Ellinwood, Kansas; granddaughters, Paige Schofield, Ammorae, Aydan, Addyson, Ava, and Abigail Bryan, and Tucker Freeman; great grandchildren, Mea and Nova Anderson, and several nieces.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. at Lanman Funeral Home, Inc. in Kiowa, Kansas, on Thursday, May 4, 2023. with family present from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Graveside service will be Friday, May 5, 2023, at 10:30 a.m. at Riverview Cemetery in Kiowa, Kansas, with Pastor Luke McKinney presiding.
