On Saturday, July 29th, 2023, Ronald (Ron) Jerome Brown, loving husband, father, and grandfather passed away at the age of 80.
Ron was born in Crookston, Minnesota, on March 26, 1943, to Vivian and Balfour Brown. He served in the U.S. Marine Corp and later retired from Bridgestone Firestone after more than 20 years. On May 22nd, 1992, he married Anita Brown. Their blended family included two sons, Russ and Rodney, and a daughter, Rita. Ron also had two children from a previous marriage, Deanne and Brian.
From his early interest in hockey to his later love of softball and football, Ron never missed a chance to discuss sports with anyone who would listen. We don’t know how the Sooners will manage without their biggest fan.
Ron was preceded in death by his father, Balfour, his mother, Vivian, and his sons Brian and Rodney (Bubba). He is survived by his wife, Anita, her daughter Rita Ortloff and son-in-law, Dave, as well as their two children, William and Paige and Rodney’s son, Aiden. He is also survived by his sister Donna, his stepson Russ, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 P.M., August 5, 2023, at the Eisenhour Funeral Home Chapel in Blanchard, Oklahoma. In lieu of flowers the family has suggested donating to the Dale K. Graham Veterans Foundation, 1233 West Lindsey Street, Norman, Oklahoma 73069. Arrangements are under the direction of Eisenhour Funeral Home of Blanchard. Online obituary and guestbook are available at www.eisenhourfh.com.
