Mrs. Elda Helen Brown, longtime Cushing resident, passed away on Friday evening, May 2, 2008 in the Cushing Regional Hospital at the age of 86 years.
The daughter of the late Orville Pool and Amy Fick Pool, Elda was born on July 11, 1921 in Agra, OK and was reared and educated in the Drumright schools, graduating from Drumright High School.
She was united in marriage to Thomas J. "Brownie" Brown on October 4, 1940 and to this union two sons, Ron and Tommy were born.
Elda was a member of the First Assembly of God Church; was an avid fisherman and enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, which were her enjoyment.
Survivors include her husband of over 67 years, Brownie Brown of the home; two sons, Ron Brown and his wife Ramona of Cushing and Tommy Brown and his wife Sherry of Montezuma, KS; five grandchildren, Ron Brown and Sam Brown and his wife Amy both of Arcadia, OK, Tom Brown and his wife Angie of Fullerton, TX, Tim Brown and his wife Jackie of Montezuma, KS and Ted Brown and his wife Amy of Wichita, KS; six great-grandchildren, Dagan, Nathan, Dakota, Hunter, Haylee and Michael �Hayden�, and other relatives and friends.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one sister Hazel Cartwright.
Elda Brown is no longer here, she is with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
The family would like to have a time of celebration of what her life was, and now what is.
Memorial services will be held on Saturday, May 10, 2008 at 4 P.M. in the First Assembly of God Church with Reverend Robert Adams, officiating.
No graveside services to follow.
