Service for Charles W. Brown, �Charlie,� 87, of Albuquerque, N.M., formerly of Enid, Okla., will be announced at a later date.
He was born to Gerald L. and Mary (Parker) Brown in 1928, in Enid, Okla., and passed away Saturday, Feb. 7, 2015, in Albuquerque.
Charlie grew up in Enid and graduated from Enid High school. He graduated from the University of Oklahoma.
He was an Eagle Scout. He served in the Korean War. He moved to Albuquerque in the 1950s and started Charlie Brown Insurance Inc. in the 1960s, from which he retired.
He was an avid golfer, hunter, skier and fisherman. He was also a lifetime member of the Four Hills Country Club. Charlie also served as a member of numerous other organizations.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Jane; and his children: son, Obie, and daughter, Polly.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. & Mrs. Gerald L. Brown Sr. and one brother, Gerald L. Brown Jr.
Memorial contributions may be made in his name to the Boy Scouts of America, with Brown-Cummings Funeral Home serving as custodian of the funds.
