Charles Lester "Charlie" Brown
July 6, 1947 ~ February 13, 2018 (age 70)

Charles "Charlie" Lester Brown, 70, long time area resident, entered his heavenly home on February 13, 2018.

The son of William L. and Billie Louise (Reed) Brown, Charles was born July 6, 1947 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. On December 31, 1965, he married Betty Ann Standridge in Battiest, Oklahoma. Charles was a drafted into the U.S. Army in 1966 and served two terms during the Vietnam War. He worked as a self-employed logger for many years and retired in 2010 to care for his wife of 45 years until she passed. In 2015 Charles met and married Annette Coker. He felt as though the Lord had sent her to him and they shared three years of happy times together. An avid outdoorsman, Charles enjoyed camping, hunting, crappie fishing and riding motorcycles. He was also very devoted to One Creek Valley Church where he was a deacon. Charles was also involved in the nursing home ministry and the men's ministry there. He was a very loving husband, daddy, and Pops to his grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by parents; his beloved wife of 45 years, Betty Ann; two brothers, Billy Brown and Earl Brown and three stepsons, Jason Coker, Steven Coker, Lemul Coker.

Charles leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Annette Brown, of the home; one son, Charles Dwane Brown and his wife, Wendy, of Broken Bow,OK; one daughter, Donna Riley and her husband, Bear, of Broken Bow, OK; four step children, Tom Tom Coker and his wife, Punkin, of Spiro, OK, Charles Deon Coker and his wife, Loretta, of Antlers, OK, Shelia Coker of Poteau, OK and Becky Harper of Hugo, OK; one brother, Tommy Brown and his wife, Gwen, of Houston, TX; one sister, Ella Bacorn and her husband, Steve, of Broken Bow, OK; ten grandchildren, Clayton Brown, Taylor Pratt, Lexia Brown, Donald "Duck" Brown, Jaxy Brown, Bailey Dollar, Logan Riley, Tyler Riley, Lacey Riley and Brent Swartzentruber; 21 step grandchildren; 26 step great-grandchildren; his best friend who he loved as a brother Donny Day, his dearly loved church family and many nieces, nephews and other friends.

A Celebration of his Life will be held at 2:00 pm, Saturday, February 17, 2018 at the One Creek Valley Church in Finley, OK. Pastor Donny Day will officiate. Military rites will be rendered by the US Army. 

Cremation services entrusted with Brumley Funeral Home, Broken Bow, Oklahoma.
