John Lillard "Tank" Bronson, 83, of Krebs, died Thursday, September 11, 2014 at McAlester Regional Health Center.
A gathering of remembrances will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, September 13 at Bishop Funeral Home. The family will greet visitors following the service. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Bishop Funeral Service.
Born May 19, 1931 to Melvin Lillard and Marie (Fann) Bronson at Lewistown, Missouri, John graduated from Lewistown High School. He served in the US Air Force. John graduated from University of Missouri-Rolla with an electrical engineering degree. He worked for PSO in McAlester and Tulsa before retiring.
He married Sylvia Brown June 1, 1993 at DeQueen, Arkansas.
John enjoyed playing golf and hand-crafting golf clubs. He enjoyed attending sporting events especially to watch his grandchildren play. John was of the Methodist Faith.
He is survived by his wife: Sylvia Bronson of the home; a son: Richard Bronson of Wichita Falls, Texas; a daughter: Patricia Bronson of Lawton, Oklahoma; granddaughter: Hallie Bronson of Mustang, Oklahoma.
Also, step-daughters: Kimberly Clift of Russellville, Arkansas, Kelli Halliburton and husband, David of Duncan, Oklahoma; step-grandchildren: Robert Miller of Tulsa, Clinton Miller of Hartshorne, Matthew Miller of McAlester, Jenifer Wilson of Duncan, Brandon Carletti-Silva of West Point, New York, Bradley Carletti-Silva of Edmond; step-great-granddaughters: Madison, Olivia, Kylar, Cailey, and Paisley; step-great-grandsons: Asa, Clint, Kamdyn, and Carter; and his pet dog: “Kandi.”
He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, and two sisters.
