Jo Ann Bristow, resident of Tonkawa, passed Wednesday, March 4, 2015 at the Willow Haven Nursing Home in Tonkawa. She was 78 years of age. Jo Ann was born January 6, 1937 in Ponca City. She was a graduate of Ponca City High School.
Jo Ann loved Indian Art and was an excellent artist herself. She loved animals, horses and Chihuahuas, especially "Micco". She played the piano and sang from a young age and was very spiritual making sure the family also was, which the family was very thankful. She always took the best care of her family and loved them no matter how hard it was. She also loved everyone at the Willow Haven Nursing Center in Tonkawa. We will all love and miss her in this life.
She is survived by her children, Gurney Edward Buckles, Paul Austin, Susan Darst Williams, Jackie D. Bristow Jr., Phillip Bristow and Donovan Darst; her sister Almeda Adams; brother-in-law Bud Adams; brothers Howard J. Buckles and Donny Buckles; her nieces and nephews, Angel, Candy, Peaches and Dawn Adams, Lacey and Jeri Williams, Shelby Bristow, Kristen and Lauren Bristow; her best friends Shirley Olson and Joann Factor;
Preceded in death by her mother and father, Ethel and Paul Miller; her Osage mother Theresa Miller Buckles and her stepfather Jay Buckles; brother Thomas Franklin; son Nick Darst; nephews Frank Adams and Jeremy Hammans; best friends Roy McGraw, Pat Mitchell, Dana and Sammy Factor.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, March 13, 2015 at Grace Memorial Chapel.
