Shirley Ann Bridges age 72 of Blanchard passed away within hours after her husband died on Tuesday, March 31, 2015 at Integris Baptist Hospital.
She was born on September 30, 1942 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. She was one of eight children; her parents were Wilbur McMillian and Drusilla Donna (Pelham) McMillian. Shirley grew up in south Oklahoma City and attended school at Capitol Hill. At a young age she married Billy Reimers and together they raised three children while living in the Moore community.
Some years later, Shirley married Bobby Jobe. They were married for 15 years before he passed away. In 1998 she married Robert Bridges and in 2003 they made their home in Blanchard where they lived today.
Shirley worked 20 years for the TG&Y Corporation, working in stores in OKC and Moore and later at the corporate offices. Then in 1993 she went to work for Comp Source Oklahoma where she retired in 2007. Shirley had several hobbies such as sewing, crocheting, cooking and collecting bells. She loved spending time with her family and especially enjoyed cooking for them during the holidays. She also enjoyed babysitting her grandchildren and in her later years she enjoyed staying at home and watching her favorite shows on TV. Shirley was a member of Woodland Hills Baptist Church in Newcastle and will be truly missed by all who knew her.
She was preceded in death by: Parents, Wilbur and Drusilla McMillian; Three brothers, Larry, Gary and Mikey; Husband, Robert Bridges;
She is survived by: Three children, Ronnie Reimers of Blanchard, Sonya Butler and husband Robert of Blanchard, Sherrill Brawley of Blanchard; 2 step-children, Marsha Lokken of Guthrie, Mark Bridges of Arkansas; Two brothers, Chuck Hill of OKC, David McMillian and wife Patty of OKC; Two sisters, Linda Shelman and husband Jimmy of Streetman, TX, Susan Harris of Midwest City, OK; 17 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, Many nieces, nephews, cousins and many other relatives and friends.
Funeral service will be held 2:00 PM, Monday, April 6, 2015 at Woodland Hills Baptist Church in Newcastle. Arrangements are with Wilson-Little Funeral Home in Newcastle.
