Harvey Edward Bridendolph, 85, passed away Saturday, February 2, 2013, at his home surrounded by his family.
Graveside services will be held at Mount Hope Cemetery in Kansas City Kansas on Friday, February 8 at 1:00 pm. A memorial service will be held at the Walker-Brown Funeral Home in Bartlesville on Saturday, February 9, 2013 at 3:00 pm.
Harvey was born December 30, 1927 in Kansas City, Kansas to Neil and Pansy Bridendolph. He was raised in Kansas City, and joined the Navy in 1944, where he served on an LST ship in the Pacific. After his discharge, he returned to Kansas City and worked a variety of jobs before going to work for Phillips Petroleum Co. at the Kansas City Refinery in 1950. Harvey and Marie (Hodges) Bridendolph were married on March 19, 1949 in Kansas City. In 1960, Harvey was transferred to Bartlesville, OK, where he worked at Phillips' Transportation Center until his retirement in 1985.
Harvey spent his retirement doing the things he loved; fishing, bowling, golfing and spending time with family and friends. He was blessed with many good friends that he shared these activities with, and was able to continue them until his recent illness. Harvey was especially loved by many children whose lives he touched, both family and acquaintances. In the end, Harvey said "I had a great ride".
Harvey is survived by his children: Neil Bridendolph (Sharon Hammond), Ruth Thompson (Richard), Bill Bridendolph (Cheryl), all of Bartlesville, and Bob Bridendolph (Jamie Kane) of Round Rock, Texas. He is also survived by grandchildren John Thompson (Kim), Nathan Thompson, Steve Bridendolph (Becky), Susan Burrow (Sean), Lisa Choate (Gene), Will Bridendolph, Audra Bridendolph, Spencer Bridendolph, Joe Bridendolph, Ali Bridendolph, John Kane (Alicia), Elizabeth Kane and Caroline Kane, and ten great-grandchildren.
Harvey was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Marie in 1984, son James in 1958, and a sister, Margaret Paul, in 2001.
