Dr. David Wayne Brewer, of Enid, passed away, unexpectedly, on March 25th, 2018, at the age of 55. Born at Fort Knox, in Louisville, Kentucky, David attended North Enid-Chisholm schools, in Garfield County, Oklahoma, ultimately graduating from Chisholm High School in 1981. David then attended Oklahoma State University and completed his coursework with a degree in biology. While at Stillwater, he took private flying lessons and was awarded the Outstanding Pilot of his class. He continued flying, and also received his instrument rating certification from the FAA. Continuing his education, David applied and was accepted to Parker Chiropractic College, in Dallas, Texas. He graduated with his Doctorate in Chiropractic Medicine in 1989.
It was during this time that he married his college sweetheart, Amy Brewer, née Meulpolder. Upon graduation, David started a private practice in Arlington, Texas, and it was very successful. He treated many athletes and celebrities, including several Dallas Cowboy football players, as well as Maverick Basketball players, all of whom enjoyed his outgoing and charismatic personality. While in Dallas, David was also a member of many organizations, including being honored as the Junior Tail Twister of the Dallas Lions' Club. In 1993, his first child, Meghan Nicole Brewer was born. In 1996, David was blessed with a son, Justin Wayne Brewer. David loved his two children more than anything in the world, and they brought great happiness and joy to him, throughout his life. He was visiting his children in Texas when he unexpectedly passed away.
David is survived by his parents, Dr. and Mrs. Jess Brewer, of Enid; a sister, Dr. Tammy Brewer, of Arizona and Oklahoma; a brother, J. L. and Jane (Richey) Brewer, of Edmond, Oklahoma; along with his children, Meghan Brewer and Justin Brewer, both of Arlington, Texas.
David will also be missed by his many patients and friends, throughout the United States.
A Celebration of his Life is planned for the 14th of April, 2018, at 10:00 a.m., in the Anderson-Burris Funeral Home. The Reverend Tommy Donaldson will be officiating.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in David's name, to the charity or foundation of one's choice.
